My point is that you DON'T have to pay full retail. Not even for the latest and hottest thing. I wound consider the Ghost in the "latest and hottest" category. I know, for a fact, that the Ghost can easily be purchased for less than $300...new, with full warranty.

Can you point me to where that might be? Regardless, "less than $300" is probably very close to $300, which is pretty darned close to full retail.

Contact Core. You can find a post from him on page 2 of this thread, which includes his cell number. Texting is the most efficient way to get in touch with him. Many - MANY!! - DFP'ers have been very satisfied with his service and pricing, including myself and quite a few of my good friends that I have sent his way. I am betting will be very pleasantly surprised.

I bought my DD her second LS Xeno last year, and she hits fine with it, so I don't spend much time chasing the latest and greatest. In fact, my bat shopping is always done late in the late Fall, when the current-year models are at their cheapest.

I know good equipment can make a difference, but $350 for a softball bat is ridiculous. That much for one that isn't approved across all the larger FP associations is insane. As is often the case, I learned something with this thread; be on the lookout for this bat during USSSA tournaments.
I was watching a HS girl hit in the cage the other day and apparently her bat broke. Instructor throwing to her asked her if she was ok and she said I have 4 other bats. I told the instructor I played baseball for almost 20 years and I probably had no more than 5-7 bats in that whole time (not counting the wood bats I used in college summer ball). He just knowingly shook his head..

It drives me nuts when I see a kid hit cage balls with an expensive composite bat. DD got her second LS after she grew out of her first, but the first is still in good shape and I'll be selling it.

I used to be the same way. Then, one day I realized how miserable I was constantly being upset about something that had to do with 12u softball. So I stopped being mad. Stopped caring about the petty crap and just focused on loving my kid and cherishing every second I get to watch her play. And man...has that made a world of difference on so many levels.

It’s girls softball. It’s an incredible game, that will give you and your daughter incredible memories. Don’t let those memories be clouded by crap that doesn’t mean a damn thing. Trust me, once you let go, it’s pretty awesome to just enjoy the game and watch your kid play it.

Very well said. I went through the same thing and came to the same realization about softball around the second year of 12u.

ME TOO!!!! Just picked up a new Xeno for DD. First thing I did was while holding the bat in front of her...."no batting machine balls. no using it to remove the dirt from your spikes. do not leave the bat out in the car where it freezes. You're welcome"
