It's been statistically proven that a runner on first with no outs has a better chance of scoring than a runner on second with 1 out. Granted, it's only 3% but it still matters in that one game. As far as running from first to 3rd by the baserunner on first? You might not want to try that against my team. We'll get you out 9 out of 10 times. Then again, we're a TB team.
Your team probably also well-coached. I've seen plenty of TB teams who do a poor job with bunt defense, and get their @$$ burned on that play.
