You could try something crazy and talk to your local community education director about running softball pitching and hitting. You have to charge the girls a small fee and you have to be willing to take anyone who shows up but they let you use the gym for free and no insurance. All I had to do was take online concussion and blood-borne pathogen training. I also had to be willing to be there every week at the same time for 10 straight weeks but it was basically free and some other girls actually showed up.

That is a great idea. I'll have to figure out who to talk to, I don't know if we have a community education director. I still think I will have to get some insurance, but it might be worth looking into.

Thanks.

Insurance needs to be sorted out. Do not them coming after me.
You are insured through the city or school because you actually register your event like a community dance class, cooking class, little kids gymnastics etc...

The Anderson Rocketech is a great cold weather bat, and the frost glove is a great glove for pitchers. 38* is a many night occurrence for spring high school softball up here in ND.

Believe it or not we have some of those here in east Tennessee as well. In fact our team (Middle School) won a tournament a couple of years ago in similar conditions. The high temp on the final day was 39, but the wind chill stayed below freezing all day. We had to win five games that day with the last one as the sun was setting.
Never been as proud of a team as I am that group.
