Looking to start a 12U C team. It would be a rec/all star team that would only travel around the state to play a couple times a month at most. Made up of girls from the same school system.

Question is: How much is it to register for each association? I have looked on the sites and have not seen a direct fee for being sanctioned yet. I can fine how much tourneys cost but nothing else. Also, how do we handle insurance in this situation?

Thanks in advance.

ASA is @$200 for a year and includes insurance. My understanding is it is a secondary insurance for players that do not have another policy, we have always had separate insurance so we have never tried to use it.

I am not sure how guest players would work for insurance, I would want to run that down before I had a quest player.

(I would guess you would be OK if guest player is rostered on another ASA team but it is too important to guess. )

(Sorry, for ASA all the coaches are suppose to take ACE exam and submit to background check, @$20 per person and a waste of half an hour of your time. :) remember kiss if you have not done it before.)

USSSA Elite is (another) separate sanction fee as well. PGF does there own thing with insurance/registration if you are playing in their national qualifiers or national tournament.

Since it sounds like you are going to have a short season I would look at the tourneys you are interested and only join 1 of the organisations. Not cost prohibitive but no reason to join a bunch.

Not sure in Indiana if any are better then others.
