I bet you guys in the south haven't played an all night indoor tournament. Nothing like starting a game at 3AM In the morning.

That sounds like so much fun! We don't do any of that in Georgia. Of course, it rarely snows here either. I need to look into doing something like that!

if you haven't asked around, then take a look at available buildings. you might have to get creative with space constraints but any practice is better than no practice.

Our school district requires that we have insurance coverage. Don't see how I can get around that one. Guess I just have to hope for plenty of warm days.

DD was just at a college camp yesterday. She is now on her annual break which typically lasts between 4 and 6 weeks. She will focus on speed and agility training and spend some extra time with her personal trainer. She will not even touch a softball for at least 4 weeks. She has done this now for 3 or 4 years, and it seems to help her. Once the break is over she returns refreshed and stronger.

DD does conditioning and hitting twice a week at a indoor hitting facility. No games until January, then Dome ball season starts.

My truck is relegated to the driveway for the winter as my indoor parking spot is a pitching station with a tarp hanging from the ceiling. Drill practice over the winter is good imo. Also using it for hitting.

Also have a few warehouses so once or twice a week we'll go afterhours to do full pitching.

DD will take approximately 1 month off from pitching while she is playing basketball. We will continue to hit once a week during that time and also start strength and conditioning with the team towards the end of that month. After that we start back up with pitching lessons which also means 3-4 days a week pitching and hitting at home. Team indoor practices start in January. Like you, we won't play any tournaments until late March or early April.

DD just played her last tournament this year. Next she hits the basketball court for December-February. We get in hitting when we can. Looking at a tarp/screen/net setup for the garage.

It sounds as though we are pretty lucky. My DDs team had a dedicated indoor facility that we get for 2 hours 2 days a week. This even continues year round so even on rainy days we still get reps in.

We are taking a break from the week of Thanksgiving until New Year's week. We resume the Sunday after New Year's this year, and will have six hours per week in an indoor facility. During that break, she will hit with an instructor every other week and do tee work. Everything else can wait. They need a little break to recharge and fit in some social/family time also. Our tournaments start back up the end of February here in Georgia, so we are lucky there. Not too much of a wait!
