I would say it's somewhere in the middle when you get two stories so far apart. Hopefully the whole story will come out.

It appears that something similar happened with the AD when he was an assistant AD at Missouri. Numerous unaddressed Title IX violations...

I'm devastated for the Lotiefs. I grew up with Stefni (was her catcher during our Little League days). She and Mike have put their hearts and souls into the ULL program. I don't think the administration understands what the fans will do. Although, it's funny that they didn't make the announcement until after the season ticket sales were over.

I'm also not buying the "verbally and physically abusive" thing. The girls seem to love him. No allegations have appeared before now.

Wow! They just signaled the death of a quality program. Coach Lotief is such a classy guy. He once talked to me about my dd. I can say that the girls at that time loved him. I can't imagine that he berated anyone and so, imo, this is the administration attempting to smear a very good man. I'd expect some major changes at ULL.

Not the first time for those allegations against Coach Lotief. They have many past players that claim he was mentally abusive from college players and even during his days coaching travel softball. I do not know the man personally but have heard past players stating that they would never let there DD play for him.

This can be said of almost every college coach. The deciding factor is often whether a player played or not. I have had a few conversations with Coach Lotief and know people who "run" with him. They have always held him in high regard.

I agree.... The point that I was trying to make is that for the ones that live in the area and follow ULL softball the allegations are nothing new. I personally believe it was just an easy out for ULL... He carried a huge roster and do not believe he would have many players staying on board if true.... I am a firm believer in sometimes the truth hurts but not everyone seems to think that way and can feel bullied by it when coming from an authority figure...... I believe he did an extraordinary job on building that program with less than favorable conditions to complete with the other programs of their size. On another note I have a hunch on who I believe would be very interested in talking the job and believe that she would be a great replacement to keep the program in good standings.
