You cannot make an rational argument that they did not have a choice.

Are you familiar with behavioral economics which takes the position that people often do not act in a rational manner?

A book that I found very interesting was, Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions a 2008 book by Dan Ariely, in which he challenges readers' assumptions about making decisions based on rational thought.

And now in the middle of all this crap, the University....

It looks like the players are victims again. First by Lotief and now by the university who will not grant a release to those that want to leave. I really feel sorry for D. J. Sanders and Aleah Craighton who are returning All-Americans and seniors. Sanders it scheduled to graduate in the spring and has been accepted to med school. I have heard that she is considering not playing this spring and instead just concentrating on her studies and getting ready for life after softball. That would be a shame if her career ended this way.

Been following the news articles on the situation...last I read, ULL was not going to allow the current players to transfer without penalty. I can not see anything where they have changed their stance on this, yet I see Oregon got a nice new player recently. What happened? Obviously i missed something somewhere

So Cal
Coach Glasco gave her her release.

Any idea if there's more to that story? DJ Sanders has been a pretty big piece of the ULL pie. From a performance aspect, she seems like the kind of player that a coach might want to keep around for another season.

As a Ducks fan, however, I'm pretty excited about it this development. :D

Eric, I do not know and have not talked to him. I do know that he is the type of guy that is player first. I know he has a vision and have talked to him before about what he wants to achieve. He is concerned with both the student and the athlete. I don' think I have posted this before on this site but if I have, I apologize. Coach Glasco came to look at BB when he was at Georgia. He was straight forward about her abilities and where she might fit in in that program. Then, he went out of his way to make several contacts to help BB out. I don't remember just how many offers BB got after that but it was over 10 and most had not seen BB play. These were some outstanding programs. Coach Glasco and I are friends. In saying that, I wish I had another child who could play for him. If you have ever met the players who have played for him, they all love him.

One other comment. BB and her TB team played the Chicago Bandits. Some of Coach's players were on that team. BB did really well against the Bandits and hit a bomb and double. When those players found out our relationship with Coach, they asked BB to eat with their team after the game. That was really special for my kid. Again, it showed me the love that they have for Coach.
