Craziest Finish to a game I have ever seen. This is 14U. Here's the scenario:

We are down 3-0 in the bottom of the last inning as time has expired. Other team has played flawless defense and we have had 2 hits the whole game against a fast pitcher we have hit before, but it just wasn't happening that day. First batter strikes out, next batter walks, and next batter grounds into a FC. So there are 2 outs with a runner on first. Next girl gets an infield single on a close play at 1st. So now 2 outs, runners on 1st and 2nd, still down 3-0 with 2 outs. Next batter hits the ball back to the pitcher and game should be over, but she makes bad throw to 1st. This scores 1 run and the other 2 runners move up to 2nd and 3rd. Now my DD is up, 2 outs, down 3-1, with runners on 2nd and 3rd. She rips a single into right that scores both runs. Now it's 3-3 with DD on 1st base. The other team looks rattled so she gets steal sign on first pitch. She slides into 2nd safe on steal and ball goes into CF. She gets up and heads to 3rd where the coach is waving her home. She gets about half way home and see ball coming into C. She stops and ends up in pickle that goes back and forth a couple times. She ends up sliding into 3rd and once again ball gets away. She gets up, heads home, and slides in safe on a bang, bang play. Game is over. Scored 4 runs with 2 outs on 2 hits and several errors for a very improbable come back.

Anybody else have any crazy, or improbable finishes to a game.

Yes. I am so numb to these scenarios. I never feel safe with a 5 run lead because anything and everything has happened. One of the differences at the older age divisions is that the balls fly over the fence more often and anyone in the lineup can bang it out.

Agree with this. We have won and lost in some many unimaginable ways that I never feel secure until the last out is recorded.

We had one pretty similar to that in our semi-final game at U-trip Nats in August, except our walk-off-win runner was tagged out between 3B and home. We went to ITB and fell apart.

This one will always be vivid in my memory...

Tournament bracket game. Down by 1 run with time expired. Runners at 1B and 3B. No outs. Top of our lineup at the plate. We were all feeling very good about the situation. 3B coach gives the batter a take sign, and signals the runner at 1B to go on the first pitch. Pitch comes, batter swings, and hits a fly ball to shallow RF. Ball is caught - out #1. Throw to 1B to double off the runner - out #2. Ball comes back to the circle. Runner at 3B isn't paying attention and steps off the base - out #3. Game over. Lesson learned: If the coach says take, you take.

I'll never forget it.

We go 0-3 on Saturday, but come out sunday and win our first 2 games to make gold championship. We play this team who just comes out hammering the ball and get down 11-0 after the second inning. In the bottom of the 3rd their pitcher get hit with a line drive and has to leave the game. The bring in another pitcher and we start coming back. Final inning it's 11-8 and our worst hitter gets a single and second worse get walked with no outs. In all seriousness we are down 3 but there is no way we can lose. They call timeout and I call runners over we have 1st and 3rd. I tell runner on 1st to steal second on a look home steal (where if they throw to go back to first) I tell runner on 3rd no matter what do not get picked off.

First pitch runner from 1st takes off with head down and they throw through she is out by 10 feet. Next pitch is a ball. On the next pitch it's a ball. Our batter things it's ball 4 so starts to first, runner on 3rd turns to go back to 3rd and gets picked off and gets in a pickle and they get her. Batter tries to go to 2nd and gets thrown out. We argue that it was only 3 balls, but our scorekeeper wasn't paying attention so wasn't sure. After a minute HC and I just let it go.

My only salvation was that I was on a plane the Cabo the next morning and after a dozen or so Pacifico's the nightmares stopped.

12u game - DD's team is the visiting team and up 1 going into bottom of last inning. Other team gets runners on 3rd and 2nd with two outs. Batter hits routine grounder to 1st base who gloves it, one or two steps away from the bag. Half our team is already celebrating. First basemen throws home for some reason, overthrows the catcher and both runs score to win the game.

We had a fun finish two seasons ago in 12U.

We were playing a team we had played 2x before and not beaten. Game was tied, bottom of the 6th, time was up. We had sat through 2 rain and lightning delays of about 1 hour total, so everyone was getting antsy... Winner was to move on to championship game...

We had runners on second and third and one out.

For some reason, HC of the other team thought he had a protest at 1st base and ordered his pitcher to throw the ball to 1B. Maybe he thought the base runner at 2nd didn't touch the base...

So.. on the coach's orders, the pitcher stops what she was doing (!), steps off the rubber, turns and throws the ball to 1st. The umpire calls 'Illegal pitch, that's the game!'.

Then the other HC starts screaming 'You can't end the game like this!?!', at the umpire...
