We bought a used catchers bag to check at airports. great for carrying several bats and lots of other stuff. Never check your glove or uniform. You can also use the box/tube that you received the bat in if you do not want to take a bag.

Has to be checked baggage and not carry on. DD2 uses her sisters catchers bag when she goes to camps. I've seen just the bat being checked also. Airlines just wrap a tag around it.

Transport it in her equipment bag or buy a catchers bag but you need to wrap it or it is going to get hammered. We wrapped the bat in bubble wrap, then wrapped a towel around it and put it in her catcher's bag. We also talked to TSA and let them know what it was (we made sure the knob was visible thru the end so we could show them) so they wouldn't unwrap it.

Lacrosse bags are great. They are long and have pockets on the sides for the sticks they have to carry. I bought one for like 30 bucks and we still use it.
Hold 3 bats on each side very easily. and the whole inside can be used for clothes and everything else.
