Yea yea, it not softball. But I know there are a few Astro and Dodger fans out there. So thought I would get a thread going on this.

Dodger Pitching is going to be key for them. Astros along with the Dodgers have a great win record. Going to be a nail biter

Going to say Game 7 with Dodgers for the Win.

I will take the Astros in 6. But that's more of a heart pick than a brain pick. The Astros have been my #2 team since the Jeff Bagwell days.

Honestly, I enjoy watching the Astros play. While they are capable of hitting the long ball, they can also score in other ways, and play really good defense all over the field. A pet peeve of mine is the ever growing 'home run or strikeout' mentality. If a hitter is facing Clayton Kershaw with nobody on and two outs, a home run is probably a decent goal. After all, reaching on a single will probably just end in a stranded runner at first base. However, if there are runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs, I would much prefer to see a sacrifice fly over a strikeout. But some of today's "experts" will try to find a way to justify the strikeout. Ok, rant over... Lol!

My father was a HUGE Dodgers fan. Then they moved to L.A.

Not sure I can forgive them.

I also spend a lot of time in the Bay Area, and I know a lot of hard core Giants fans, who might not appreciate it if I rooted for the Dodgers.

Of course, any real baseball fan knows that the Dodgers and Giants both take their colors from the flag the Netherlands had back in the 1600s. (Blue, White, Orange, with orange for the House of Orange).

Astros in however many games it takes!!! This is the rematch me and brother played out in the backyard wiffle ball championships back in the mid 80's. NL West enemies! I made him be the Dodgers and I was the Astros!!! I had to bat left handed since he was two years younger and I was the superior baller. Houstonians are totally stoked to be back in the World Series. We don't even count that debacle in 2005 vs the White Sox. It was as if the Astros didn't even show up...it was some other team.

Since I'm a Rays fan I have no dog in the hunt but will have to live vicariously through the Dodgers (oldest DD lives in L.A.). Either way it should be a good one! I don't think I'll have a dog in the hunt for a long long time LOL.

I actually attended a couple of World Series games, and the home team won both of them, and also the series (one was a game 2, the other a game 7). In one case it was the first WS win for that team, and it was one of the oldest teams in baseball.
If I told you which games, you would know how old I am. Hint: the relief pitcher in one of those games was the now-deceased father of a famous country music singer, and that game also had two of the best 3B ever to play the game.
The other game had some of the greatest coke heads ever to play the game.

Interesting that in those days, normal people actually had a chance to get tickets at face value, and students could afford the tickets.

So did you attend a game in Kansas City or in Philadelphia? :) I was at one of the games in Philly... Mike Schmidt is my favorite player of all time.

I get up so early to go to work (4:30) that I haven't watched a complete WS game in over 10 years even when my Red Sox have been in it. Last time I did was 2004..:p

However this year I might actually try and watch a full game and just mainline coffee the next day
