55dad's, home to 1st thread, prompted me to post this thread
I thought of this many times when DD1 was contacting Colleges in regards to recruitment, but we just ran out of time...and yes maybe I'm wearing the Captain Obvious costume here...are any of you guys doing this? I'm sure you guys are, but does your video include ALL of the mentioned skills here on video on a radar gun, or from a measurable view point?
Is anyone sending out a Recruiting Video to College Coaches that has measured/timed skills in the videos clips?
What I mean by that is this, are any of you showing a video clip of your DD running the 20 yard dash (home to first), in a manner that easily allows the coach viewing it to time it while viewing it.
How about overhand throwing speed, pitching speed, Zepp bat speed, ball exit speed (all in mph)? On a radar gun or Zepp screen
Do any of your DDs Recruiting Videos have a quantitative view of of these skills, where the college coach can see you holding a Pocket Radar when they are pitching showing the ball speed and movement from the catcher's view? Or a radar gun on the overhand throwing speed? Of having a pitching machine cranked up to 60-65 mph and having them hit.
I always wanted to do this, showing DD1 hitting on a men's softball field showing the distance the ball went in the air. Or DD1 maxing out on bench, or another lift (her strong suits)
But we also would have included the 20 yard dash times, over hand throw and what not which would have been detrimental in recruitment (3.0 and 56mph respectively)
At least it would have been something the College Coaches could have seen, with all of the basic skills involved in fast pitch.
I haven't seen many Recruiting videos that include all of these skills measured on a radar where the College Coach can view it on a HD TV or monitor.
Am I just not looking in the right place?
For DD2 and DD3, this is still an option since they are younger.
But for us to jump on a plane and fly around the country to play in front of coaches/schools, is not an option.
So maybe a detailed video showing all skills, hitting, running, lifting, and throwing with a radar gun in view would be helpful?
Your thoughts?
