Currently in Orlando hanging out at my cousin's while we're on vacation. I looked in my email on my phone and found out I made the team I tried out for. I'm excited I made it. But we finished our tryouts on Saturday and found out this morning. I know because the timestamp said 8:38 am today. I'm wondering, is it normal to find out you made your team 5 or 6 days after tryouts and by email. Just seems a little unusual to me since I found out 2 days after for summer season.

Were there multiple tryouts? I know DDs coach doesn't notify anyone until after all 3 tryouts have taken place. He told them last night that he will let them know by Friday.
Some teams offer right way, some don't.

We have some private workouts with players that have conflict so some players might take a little bit to get back too.

Congratulations on making team.

We did have multiple tryouts over the two days. But all 150 of us had to come both days.

Thank you for the congratulations, Quincy. We will be finding out starters and stuff after practices start when I get back from vacation.

First and foremost Congrats on making your team. Is this a college showcase team? If so, I don't think there should be starters vs non starters. There are 2 catchers on my DD's team and they had almost the same number of innings over the entire summer. My DD did miss a tourney and still had 9 less innings than the other catcher. I am trying to picture 150 players on the same field. Who's pitching front toss to all these players during tryouts? Stretch Armstrong?

To answer your original question: With 150 players they have lots of decisions to make. Back in 10U rec ball we had 130 players that we had to split them up into 4 groups into 4 different time slots throughout the day. That was exhausting!!

Thank you for the congrats, Orange Socks. Yes, I am on a college showcase team. According to my coach, we will get pretty much equal playing time as far as all position players.
As far as how we were split up. We were split up in 6 different groups of 25 girls each. We had 3 groups outside and 3 groups inside. I was on one of the groups that started inside. Each group went an hour each. We took a break and then we switched locations. The inside groups went outside and the outside groups went in. Our second day, we all had 5 inning scrimmages played over three games where our coaches were able to look at what we could do at game speed.
