Maybe Conroy will decide it’s not worth going to California to keep playing the same Midwest and Eastern teams and he’ll start an organization with Nationals in Chicago.

Doubt it, I believe he has part ownership in PGF. It's only a positive thing to travel out West and win, puts the Midwest on the map, which opens the door for other kids.

Yes, I was being facetious because PGF was formed in part because California teams were tired of traveling across the country only to face other California teams in the later rounds.

I believe if the Bandits only pulled from Illinois they would be able to still compete, there are some very talented players in the Chicagoland area.

With these massive indoor facilities being built for winter time, I believe that is helping close the gap, not just with softball, but baseball as well.

I was told by a girl that pitched at Stanford, who now is an instructor, she believed that playing year round was actually a hindrance, as players develop bad mechanics they don’t have that time off to correct it, and work through it. They also don’t have the recovery time and will play through a lot of injuries.

I looked at the 18U bandits Conroy roster that won the PGF. 8 of the 13 girls on their roster are from the Chicagoland area which includes northwest, IN. The other 5 girls were from fairly close states (IA, WV, MI, OH, and MO). Its not like they have gone that far out to fill a team.

When he was interviewed during the game I am almost certain that he said that he had girls on his team representing 9 different states. He may have had players on his team that were not on his online roster. I know that DD's team picked up a NorCal player to fill in for our Texas team at the JoCup.

I was looking at the website roster, and I counted 7 states. But maybe he picked up a couple players for Nationals.
