My $0.02....
1) The dad was wrong for jumping down your throat.
2) Parents of players who are slumping are on edge emotionally.
3) There are a lot of head coaches who think they are better coaches than they really are.
4) Try positive reinforcement before she hits "keep both eyes on the ball until contact" vs. negative reinforcement "your pulling your head out".
5) If a player is taking private batting lessons from an instructor, let the player, players parents, and instructor work it out.
6) Suggest the parent video tape some at bats to share with the instructor.
7) If a player is not hitting move them down the batting order or sit them on the bench.

My standing rule is if you have a hitting instructor, I won't change a thing or interfere with his lessons. On the other hand, if you can't or don't produce at the plate you won't hit until it gets worked out.
