I'd like to set up a radar gun on the back side of the batting cage with one of the large displays.
So the DDs can hit and see exit speed mph readings on their own, without someone else holding the radar gun and resetting it every time the ball is hit.

Bushnell, Pocket Coach, and Net Playz are a few of them on the market.

Anyone have a set up like what I'm talking about where your DD can set up a tee in a cage, and have the large display exit speed mph read out, pop up by itself every time the ball is hit?
Any pluses or minuses? likes/dislikes?...
Accurate/inaccurate or inconsistent compared to another radar gun?

I'd like to do this to get them to work on their own more, so they can see what does or doesn't add exit speed to the ball in their swings.

Thanks!

I use a Stalker Pro set up with a display screen....works just as you described. Also, it is nice since it also gives pitch speed on every pitch......a real motivator. Total set up was about $1600.

Pitch speed is a great way to measure progress, but I would caution against over using it and creating an environment where pitchers sacrifice proper mechanics in search of MPH. A flat 65 MPH pitch is still a meatball at high level 16U TB.

Thanks for the input guys!

Ya, they love the feedback on the hand held Pocket Coach, but I like coaching them from the side when they do tee work.
That's where these "hands free" models can really come in handy...plus they can do it on their own also...seeing their hard work come to fruition on the exit speed mph read out!
