That certainly does not speak well for the decision by Barnhill.

Not sure what the back story is regarding Barnhill, but outside of her team success, if she was as good as she is at FL at another University (Stanford for example) she
would likely have the same softball opportunities after college (Olympics, etc).

I suspect that it was the chaos at Stanford with Rittman.

The talk of the region here is that a pretty talented 2020 recently accepted a verbal offer to Stanford. That specific case is obviously none of my (our!!) business, but speculation mechanics can be fun, I suppose. Congratulations to her, for sure! I was surprised to hear that news, given that becoming an athlete at Stanford is predicated upon getting into Stanford and it would greatly surprise me to learn than an admissions department had projected out that far. And then there is the fact that Coach Hanson had said that they wanted to avoid early recruiting. I am certainly very happy for this young woman, though, as she has the talent.

As to whether Stanford can draw enough talent to get to a Super Regional or 2 in the next decade, count me in the "yes, I believe they can" camp.

Congratulations to Coach Allister on the new job.

Have no animosity toward Stanford. If I did I would not be working for them. My point was that someone who chooses Stanford is placing academics before softball. If you have a choice between two schools, Stanford or a top softball school you do not choose Stanford if your priority is an all expense paid trip to OKC.

Agree completely.
