The only thing that makes any sense to me is he didn't want to pull the pitcher but thought she needed a break in the heat so changed catchers.

That might be stretching it though. If I did do something like that I'd make sure I told my catcher why and that it wasn't any thing she did just that I wanted to give pitcher a few minutes to catch breath.

That kinda makes sense to me. I know the pitcher was getting tired. She threw the last two innings of the consolation semifinal, all of the consolation final and the tournament final. She is a workhorse. I know I wanted to see the game go to completion and the pitcher get a complete game win.

Maybe he pulled you so you could get a few minutes of rest before he sent you to the circle to close it out.

I wouldnt worry about it, dont give it another thought. Sometimes players will make a mistake and cost a team the game, sometimes coaches make the mistake. Its over, time to start preparing for the next game!

I agree with the other comments. All you can control is your attitude and how you play. Always play as hard as you can and things will work out.

I'm over the loss and I'm over that he pulled me. I just don't understand why he pulled me. I wasn't showing that I was tired from catching three straight games in 90 degree weather.

I'm ready for the next pool play tournament and maybe we can win this one :).

If he's a good coach and you approach it the right way (along the lines of what did I do if anything, so I can know for next time) he should be happy to talk to you about it, I bet. It does sound like maybe a stalling tactic? But who knows.

I did ask him tonight at practice and his words to me were that he had wanted to give me a break earlier in the game and the break just did not happen until that point. He really thought that they would just tie the game, we'd go into extra innings and I would have gone back in during the 8th inning.

Glad you asked your coach. That shows maturity on your part and that's going to serve you well long after softball is over.
