So the last week or so, they've been struggling to get in games for DD's 3rd all-star tournament.
It started last week and was supposed to finish this past weekend. Due to having rain almost every day, they had to reschedule games into this week. With more rain coming, the director decided to just go ahead and cancel the rest.
Fine for some divisions - since they were able to get their championship game played. There were 4 divisions that still needed to finish. Two divisions already had all but 1 team with a loss so they just needed to play the loser's bracket game to see which team went to the championship. Two divisions still have undefeated teams.
Of course DD is in one with two undefeated teams as they only were able to play 2 games. They just needed to win one more to make it to the championship.
So tournament director said they would determine winner/runner-up by where you are currently. Easy enough probably for those where there's only one undefeated team.
How do they decide if two teams haven't lost yet?
The team we were supposed to play - we have a better RF/RA difference and in the last two tournaments, we've beat them 3 times. We were also seeded #1. But I am curious if they are just going to flip a coin. Granted I don't care about the trophy because TBH, it doesn't mean anything unless you actually get the win.
Honestly, it's such a let-down that the girls can't finish out this tournament. They already won their first two and wanted to go for the sweep - in our county we have 3 All-Star tournaments.
Luckily we're signed up to go to the State All-Star tourney (if it doesn't get rained out too!) so they aren't finished yet.
