How well does travel ball prepare you for college?

Its cheaper to play for a college;) My dd will find out this fall. For some reason her college coach told me that I don't need to come down and catch her:confused:

Most people who have posted so far are totally right, there is no answer to this. Comparing one travel ball team to another can be like comparing apples and oranges and I think the same could be said about College programs (even at similar levels but especially at different levels).

That being said one piece across the board that is really hard to recreate at the travel ball level is the experience of every inning of every game counting. In travel ball every player knows the difference between a pool game and a bracket play game and even when a team performes poorly in bracket play they get to try again next week starting from scratch. In college playing in the post season is usually the goal, every single game affects a.) their ability to make post season play and b.) their seeding once they get there. I have not seen a program able to recreate this level of pressure throughout the season.
