Softball is littered with former players that took this same terrible advice. You are SEVERELY limiting your daughters potential by only listening to one person (that you just happen to be paying money to). It's absurd.

Point taken, I guess I didn't word that the best. When it's obvious the person trying to change something is incorrect this is what happens, if the person makes sense with what is being explained she makes an adjustment

I appreciate you sharing your experience; my experience has been just the opposite.

I think that marriard's post above sums it up well. Do your homework on any coach.

I think when the dividing line is Daddy Ball Vs. Paid Coach you are missing the bigger picture. Neither one is an indication of the quality of the coach.

In my opinion if all the coaches in the sport were paid coaches we would be doing these players a disservice. There are simply to many good coaches that have kids that are currently playing for them.

I understand your point but daddy ball teams can never get over the issue with lack of tryouts and cutting players. The coaches' kids can NEVER get cut and this is a huge difference between the two type of teams. I have coached both softball and baseball and can tell you the team dynamics are different when on daddy coached teams versus paid coach teams. When your DDs are older, you got to let them go otherwise you might be doing them and their teammates a disservice at the expense of being a parent coach.

One of the most passionate coaches helping DD was daddy coach.

DD has played with and against them, helped her beat up on thier team.

Always hard when you generalize, need to find something everyone is comfortable with.
