Can a college player give pitching lesson while she is still pitching in college? I know there are rules regarding college players not making money from the university. Would that apply to doing pitching lessons on their own time? We do not use any of the colleges facilities if that makes any difference.

I assume the answer is that they are allowed to do pitching lessons but I am not sure. Can't see why it would be any different than having a part time job. It is also pretty common for college players to help out with travel teams once the college season is over.

Yes, this is allowed. As you stated it must be outside the school. No school facilities, and no mention of the school. When Jake does these she never wears garnet.

A lot of college athletes have summer jobs, so I have to believe this would be OK as long as the school is not involved or used for advertising.

I thought when OP said "while still pitching in college" they meant in season. Summer jobs may be different, but unless the rules have changed it doesn't matter who the money comes from scholarship athletes can't (couldn't) have jobs. It came out of no show or part time "jobs" that alumni offered to recruits. The kind of part time jobs that pay $100,000 and come with a company car. Perhaps the NCAA has relaxed their stance of jobs. I don't keep up on that since my relatives left the business.

Then of course you could forego your scholarship and work part time for Tyson Chicken, coincidentally for the exact same amount of money as your scholarship. That way the university could give your scholarship to an incoming recruit and they would never run out of scholarships. Not that any school would do that.

Not sure of the in season/out of season. Hard to believe that during the season anyone would have the time or inclination.

During the spring season her time has been very limited, which is understandable. Occasionally we will receive a text saying she has a little time to do lessons during the season. She attends a very good NAIA school, so her travel schedule is not as quite as extensive as say a SEC schedule would be. I really enjoy the time she spends with my daughter and my daughter has benefited greatly from her instructions. She teaches pitching in a very similar way that a lot of the pitching guru's on this site would teach. She just uses some different terminology.
