Use it for batting. My 10YO DD improved her exit speed 5mph after using it about 5 times over the course of 3 weeks. She had pretty good lower half engagement prior to the wedge but I knew there could be more so I took a shot. Well worth it for us for batting. Also used it to improve lower half engagement on OH throws. Not sure that I would see value for fastpitch pitching as DD is a pitcher too.
