Do you think he knew of his son's "issues"? Having witnessed a similar situation, these things can happen on your watch and you not know anything about it...

That's a great question and it leads to others. Did he know when he brought him on staff? At some point, did he know what was going on and attempted to cover it up? If he didn't know, as the head coach, should he have known?

As the head coach, it's his responsibility even though that's not completely fair. I think the nepotism in the situation makes it even worse.

The image right now is a program out of control and that's on the head coach. Maybe the image doesn't match reality.

Corey Myers is one of the most arrogant SOBs I have ever met, and considering he is an assistant coach riding his dads coattails I still wonder what he has done to be arrogant about...wait, did I say that out loud?

DD played with an unnamed organization he was a part of in 8U and her first fall in 10U. He was arrogant then and after going to camp a few years later it only reinforced how she felt.

Clint Myers is at Auburn because the AD at ASU would not let him bring his sons on staff. Jay Jacobs, Auburn's AD, now has egg on his face and his lips attached to Richard Shea's derriere.

We are early in the process so DD is hitting the camps and we have toured a few campuses while making her a large list of schools. Her lifelong dream was to play at AU but after going to camp it changed. I think there is an air of arrogance around the coaches and it seems it may have rubbed off on some of the players.

We only know one Auburn player, but she’s not the least bit arrogant and her parents are as down to earth as they come. She’s a great kid and I hate to see her in this situation.

My DD loved the players she worked out with at camp and one of the GA's so I don't think it is everyone of them. All it takes is one or two bad apples to hurt the team though.

I think the anticipated long term impact to the players is being overstated. Softball and life will go on for all concerned. Were it not for the fact that Auburn is a top 10 team and the recent drama with the program, this story would receive little to no attention.

For me, the Fagan name has been associated with so much drama it influences my perception of them. I can see the Fagan brand (if there's such a thing) being impacted, at least in the world of softball going forward.

For those of you following along at home, please refer to my comments about Jay Jacobs having his lips permanently attached to Richard Shea's derriere...

Lips attached but a handful of his cash. Shea did sink a lot of money into the program and that will help girls in the future and I am happy about that. Everything else that has gone on with it stinks though.

The good news is that the odds of Clint Myers being back next season are @ 50/50 according to the Auburn message boards, and there are a number of great head coaches who would love to coach at Auburn if he leaves.
