The ONLY time I ever like the rule is when DD 3 or one of her teammates gets to base on a dropped 3rd strike. One time DD 3 was on a 1st year 14U team getting whomped by one of the best 14U teams in the state. They scored one run. DD 3 got to base on D3K, and the next batter got an RBI double.
Even then I didn't like the rule, but I could live with it.
