High School is wrapping up and the serious travel season is starting and teams are looking for players... Yeeha!!!!
All the usual claims - we are just short a #1 pitcher (and a SS.. and a catcher wouldn't hurt), "We do things differently", no daddy ball (which in several cases is just BS because I know the dads), coached by ex-college player (who has no coaching experience, is 22 years old but hey she played at a college that won almost a quarter of their games!!!) and so on...
There are always some that go above and beyond the normal claims. Here are the stand outs from recent days:
"XXX are looking for 5 guest players for a tournament on April XX! Looking for 3 pitchers and 2 catchers!
We are also looking to add 3 pitchers and 2 catchers to the team permanently. We have a great group of girls with an amazing group of parents and are looking to build our team!"
--- comment: "so you dont have a team if your looking for all of this?"
--- comment "Yes we do have a team. I have 7 girls right now but I need pitchers and catchers."
And this gem from an 18U Team. If a player is not hopping to new team, I am not sure at 18U where exactly they are going to come from:
" tryouts @XXXXX -- team hoppers and/or weekend guest players need not show up"
Not sure who, where, what age... here is the entire post (note this is a state wide forum they are posting this on):
Subject: We need 2 players!
Message Body: We need 2 players to complete our team. Call me if you are interested

(Coach's DD plays SS I reckon)
