I just twitted Michelle Smith @MicheleSmith32 and Amanda Scarborough @ascarborough. We need to send them as many messages as we can until they acknowledge us. I will let you know if they reply and what they said.

Is anyone happy about that response? She must be a politician : )

Barnhill is one of the premier pitchers in D1 and on Team USA and she hasn't had an opportunity to see her pitch? Give me a break.

Seriously - duck, duck, duck, it's a goose but I'm calling a duck anyway, duck, duck, duck... Must not have TV, DVR, smartphone, internet or electricity.

I don't think it's an issue of popularity or revenue or advertisers.

I think it's an issue of interest - not enough people care about it.

The NCAA is fine with it. Opposing coaches are fine with it. Umpires are fine with it.

There is no real controversy until one of those parties dissents. Until it really starts bothering somebody with skin in the game, it's not that big of a story. There's not much for commentators to say about it that would be all that interesting.

Aaaahhhhh...no.

Remember a few years ago when the IP was targeted, some of the attention came from some in the game complaining about it just as we are reading in the OP.

When the umpires started calling it, with the NCAAs support, it was unbelievable how bad the game became. The announcers on TV DID comment on it and would voice over the replays pointing out why it was an IP. That's were the problems began. Because they are all player-oriented, they became quickly irritated, much like the fans, on how it affected the game.

The big point here is that the calls were not wrong. Sort of makes you wonder how some of these young ladies got to this level of play including the scholarships that many received. What the hell were i the minds of the coaches who made these decisions? Many of the pitchers could not adjust, but instead of correcting their pitchers, the coaches demanded the umpires stop affecting the games by doing their jobs. Through the arguments on the field, in the TV booth and the in- and post-game interviews, not one time did I hear anything about the calls being inaccurate, but plenty about how it affected the game. NONE of those doing the interview or the media in general had the nerve to question the coaches' ability to train the pitchers to throw legally or suggest the onus of all the IPs should be on the coaches.

As you can see, the coaches seem to have gotten their way and the game has reverted back to some of the IPs being ignored or overlooked, though there are not nearly as many as in the past That means that either the colleges are being pickier in their recruits or the youth pitching coaches are doing a better job of training the young ladies to pitch within the rules.

Cheri kempf got back to me. She wanted me send a clip. I don't know how to save a file in DFP so I sent the web link. Hope she can open it without being a member. If someone knows how to save a video or gif here please let me know.

Doesn't look like she was successful.
