I've been to PCB Stayed on the beach. So much so that you nearly step out of the elevator onto the sand. Loved it, but then again, I didn't try to build a sand castle
The USFA World Series @ PCB at 14U is sill one of my fondest softball memories. Great mix of softball and vacation and it sure beats Bloomington, IL, Salem, Va, Chattanooga, TN.
Yeah, well, I have been going to PCB all my life... It is close and convenient, just gets a little too crowded at times... So, the more people they can manage to run off, the better I will enjoy it...
On the serious note, the issue was not the sand castle... The issue was the metal scoop and quite honestly it was probably the size of the metal scoop... They passed a bunch of laws after their fiasco with Spring Break the last couple of years and the "regulations" concerning digging and what you can and cannot have on the beach were changed and/or are now being enforced... Also, the local news had a lot less one sided slant on this and apparently, the gentleman that got this fine did a little more than was included in the article that tried to make it about building a sand castle... I use a metal detector on the beach every single time I go and I have never had an issue...
As far as tournaments down there, they are almost exclusively playcations and I do not care for them much...
