Auburn just cannot seem to stay out of the new this week... Corey Myers resigned abruptly and the rumors going around are not pretty on this one unfortunately.... He was the heir apparent for replacing his dad...

I am really hoping this is a recruiting issue.

Yes. His statement was rather "iffy," at best. It certainly got my attention. It made me go "HUH?"
Have you read the college discussion board?

Clint Myers has got to be heartbroken. One of the primary reasons he took the Auburn job was so he could work with his sons and the plan was for Clint to retire and for Corey to take over as the head coach shortly after he graduated. Casey is still there, but there is a lot of debate on whether or not he has the personality and desire to become a HC.

I checked out an online Alabama newspaper, and looked at the comments section. Interesting things being said. IF the rumors are true, things are going to get worse very quickly. Sad.

Being a mom of grown children, I have to think that Clint tried to help his son too much. I am always somewhat skeptical of a grown man, that goes to work for daddy.
That is not to say that farmers or business owners shouldn't keep it in the family. But, Clint left a top position, in PHX, to give his sons coaching jobs. His son was a number 1 draft choice. I think he could get a position himself.
Most parents have a pretty good idea, what their adult kids are doing.

I'm not saying this had anything to do with it but the other day when I was watching Auburn play I thought I noticed him butt slap a kid coming into the dug out and thought, "that won't fly on most teams." Young men coaching younger women requires there be no chance of impropriety.

You may want to go check out Corey's baseball career before you start thinking he could take care of himself. Some websites list Corey as the biggest MLB bust of the 1999 recruiting class and the biggest bust in the history of the Arizona Diamondbacks...

Thanks. I had never heard of him. I was googling important things like his picture. :) That is when I found out that he was a first round draft pick.

It is very ugly what IS going on down there, won't get into specifics but what happened is not good. Doubt the Myers family will be there much longer.
