Is there something truly magical about a 2012 CF5 Dimarini bat?

So I was in a local sporting goods store and noticed the guy had an older CF5 Dimarini. For whatever reason, I asked him how much he wanted for it. He priced it pretty close to retail value of the new models. I just thanked him, looked at something else, and left. For kicks and giggles, I got on Ebay and amazon and searched that particular bat. The prices were astronomical. What gives? I'm not understanding. Was it just a super super hot bat? Do people collect them? Help a tired old fella understand.

I will say the CF5 (and the CF4 before it) were both pretty darn good bats. I still have my older DDs CF5 and will pass it on to younger DD next year when she out grows her current Xeno.

That said I would not pay current retail for it unless DD absolutely loved it and was replacing one she had and couldn't get anywhere else.

Thanks guys. For a second there, I thought I was in the Twilight Zone, especially after I checked ebay and amazon and found them priced between $500 and $600. The shop owner told me he'd sell it to me for $175, new in the wrapper. It's tempting..... Personal opinion of all the Dimarini's my daughters have owned--the CF8 drop eleven was the best one so far, BUT it shattered in a very short period of time. Lol.
