On a subject somewhat related to a player choosing not to hi 5 someone, anyone have thoughts on future college championship teams accepting/turning down a visit to the current White House? Make any difference if it were a women's team? Or your own DD's team?

Ooohhh, risky question but an interesting one. If my DD were on a team that turned down a visit to the *current* white house, I would be 100% supportive of that. However, I'd not have felt the same way with any other administration (on either side of the political fence).

. Genuinely curious about what you find reprehensible about her behavior.
She should've let it go. It was nothing. SHE was looking for trouble. Unlike TW, she DID intentionally shove him and to me that's why he spun around so quickly.
I have two daughters and have been coaching softball at different levels for the last 14 years. I have a very low tolerance for lack of sportsmanship in coaches and players. And even lower tolerance of men treating women inappropriately.

I don't know of the history of the Fagan-Walton feud, and I don't care. Two sisters were kicked off the team and their family is pissed. One of the biggest problems in our socuety is everyone thinks they are entitled to to get even. That's BS.. My players are not entitled to choose with whom they high five or shake hands- only if they have reason to beleve the other team is spitting in their hands first.
If what he did was considered inappropriate touching, then someone needs to grow thicker skin.

Without getting political, we have become a nation of snowflakes.

.

You really don't think he did that on purpose? It looks obviously intentional to me. He moves his arm out to make contact with her shoulder. They were both being poor sports, but he's a coach and much older and should be held to a higher standard.

I find the different takes on this pretty interesting.

I don't know why she didn't want to high five the guy, but I'm not holding it against her. She's allowed to feel the way she feels. He is 100 times more in the wrong to me than she is. I'm with reagansdaddy. If this is my DD, I'm proud of her for not taking his little shove and sticking up for herself. People can talk about how she over reacts, etc, but this is supposedly the one of the best if not the best softball coaches in the country. He should know better. If you're a 19-21 year old woman, wouldn't you be shocked that he shoved you and react emotionally?

Interested to see where this goes. He should be fired but I doubt he will be.

I thought it was pretty clearly intentional.

I will say that this is the first time I have ever been called a snowflake! LOL

Snowflake, she is not a snowflake. A snowflake would have ran off and cried to someone. She was going to kick his Lilly rear. You don't know what a snowflake.

To be honest, I'm offended by the political nature of some of the posts here. I'd like to give my opinions about "past administrations."

I believe both are in the wrong. Both should be held accountable. I do wonder now about ever shaking hands, high five ... if someone can turn this into sexual assault then my high five days are over.

Dude- I wasn't talking about you (or anyone else in this thread) I was Talking about HER!
I shouldn't have used the term "snowflake" due to the negative political baggage that goes with it.

She behaved like a princess.

If my dd was invited to the White House she would go with pride. If it was the other administration in the White House she would of wanted to go and teach them about the Constitution and make sure they would understand we are a Republic not a democracy. Sorry had to go there.
