I'm right here.
My youngest is a freshman in high school....I have the space and might as well provide her with whatever I can to help her achieve her goals.

After a lot of contemplating about the best method (cage vs cables vs hanging from ceiling) I decided to build a cage out of pvc. Here is day 1.

PVC will break if it takes a hard hit line drive...trust me, I have made this mistake.

Yep... better with framing poles or a simple wire and pulley system with netting. I too have made this mistake.

You need to start somewhere; if it's a total fail we regroup. I know the pipe supplier very well so I got a deal on the overall cost of the pvc. I will also be wrapping the pvc with foam padding to help protect against breakage. We'll see how it goes.

My oldest broke the little fiberglass, bendy poles that come with some nets with a hard hit.

Looks like a good start though. The foam idea might work pretty good with deflecting hits.

I'm curious about the netting supplier also. I plan on setting up a little hitting station in the unfinished part of my basement next year. I was thinking 3/4" metal conduit to hang the netting.

Make sure and post some more pics when you get it all done.
