For fishing net companies, Memphis Net And Twine is an option. They also carry patching kits etc. Not cheap but if you are in that part of the country...

I bought a lighter net on eBay 6 years ago or so. We have wore it out and I'm going to replace it soon. It is 10x10x45 and 10' wide is okay except you have to be offset from the middle a little so they don't hit net with the swing finish. If you have a lefty in the mix you have to keep moving the plate or tee.

Also 45' wasn't near long enough to have a pitching lane especially if you do walk throughs. Even at 10u with a 35' pitching distance. I always had to tie one end up for pitching. Remember, they need space behind the pitching rubber for backswing and the catcher doesn't sit on top of the plate, they sit behind it and it's no fun sitting with your back to the net getting tangled up all the time.

Would like to go 12x12x55 with the next one. Would go bigger but don't have enough space. Man you could get some stuff done if you could go 14 wide and 70 long.

For all the younger player/new bee cage builders, I know right now it seems like cheap light net is the way to go but spend a little more money NOW because if you have a place to hit they will improve quickly and it will get hard to keep the balls from exiting under the bottom and they will be hitting the ball much harder in a few years.

A batting cage is hands down THE BEST money I ever spent on softball.
