Have seen people in here from time to time post zepp stats, and occasionally too sprint times or throwing velocities. My daughter will be going to her first camp where they will take measurements of a bunch of things. They have a page that lists averages gathered from 15,000+ camp attendees and the numbers are strikingly good. I think the bat speeds were all around 65mph average, regardless of year in high school.

I thought my daughter would put up great numbers but we'll see, I guess the typical attendee is quite the studette.

Can you provide a link to the site that contains the list of measurements? I would like to take a look at that.

Edited: Never mind I have found it. Do you have any idea what would be considered a good score? National avg or something to go by? From what I seen if you are anywhere in the 90's I guess you could consider yourself in elite company. I watched a video of a guy talking about the testing and he said that the overhand throwing velocity is the most important measurement that they take. He was unclear if it was the most important for testing purposes or important to raise awareness since most softball players are lacking in this particular aspect of their game.

I can only offer anecdotes. I would say average bat velocity at impact for 14s where my daughter plays would be maybe 60. Maybe even a bit lower. Those time to impact are very good, seem almost not right. Throwing yes indeed is very poor for many players.

We have a number of girls going to the camp. Will report back what I learn.

We saved DD personal measurement and she's been using it as a goal sheet as she's grown over the Winter.

Also purchased a Zepp and have been really disappointed with it.

She did not receive an invite last year (14u), and they were clear on why. She wrote to them and asked them to come watch her and see how much she's improved, and she never got a response.

Personally, it was very valuable information for DD to see how she stacked up against the others. ProTip: scribble down the numbers of the studs at the camp, or take pics. Then you can look up their stats when group numbers come out and compare to DD so she knows what she should be aspiring to.

Has anyone gone to one of the On Deck tryouts? I'd like to know if you get these numbers at a tryout as well.

DD has attended two tryouts. Unfortunately, because of weather conditions she was not able to get a full ODM index number since they were not able to do the shuttle at the first one and the 60 yard dash on the other. They will post the numbers with your kid's number at some point after the event. Don't forget the number!!!! It took 2-3 months to post last year(wasn't too happy about that). DD was invited to 3 of the Jamborees which is the real goal of these events. Just another tool to use in the recruiting process. They take notes on all the players and email the results to the college coaches in their data base. My DD's numbers were not that impressive, but she makes up for it in the way she carries herself and the way she plays. So they don't just look at the numbers.

Great! Thanks for the info.
