I'm right here.
Non-Softball related...although it could come in handy for those "away" weekends.

Looking to buy my wife a margarita mixer for her birthday; willing to spend a couple hundred.

I trust everyone's feedback here way more than anywhere else....Any suggestions or horror stories?

Thanks in advance.

I generally agree about the quality of advice from the people at DFP, but I'm no help on your specific issue. I prefer my margaritas on the rocks.

try Margaritaville mixers altho I would think any decent blender will do. just a side note, the finest tequila in all the world if Partida anejo. this isn't what you'd use in a Margarita, probably the reposado for that.

"One Margarita please, hold the mix.."

Are you looking for a blender? I like antique blenders, cant beat the quality. Osterizer.

Since you are open to advise, I recommend not buying a kitchen appliance gift for your better half. Risky IMO.

Hey TJ, Hopefully we'll see you on the fields again soon! Go Pats! On to your question...

I used to work for a home products manufacturer. In fact, we made the margaritaville mixer which initially came out at the nice price of $250. There still $200+.
Don't do it. We were masters of what we called the single-use appliance. You know, all those neat things that sit in the basement or bottom cabinet waiting to get used once a year because that's all they're good for, when a skillet or pot would have done the job equally as well.

Opt for a really nice pitcher and a set of matching glasses, good tequilla, rim salt, recipe book for fancy versions, guava nector, a little lime tree, and package it all up nice. If you feel compelled to buy an appliance, go for a good quality blender that you can also use to make DD power smoothies on game day. DW will love the thought you put into building her margarita care package vs just a mixer.

Or just make her a beer-rita!!

Go Pats is right! Grogan is the man! Yeah...looking forward to catching up with you again; hope your winter is going well.

Yeah, maybe I'll take the advice here and opt for good tequila and a recipe book. We actually have a decent blender and I bought her a nutri-bullet for Christmas too; and she uses them...unlike the slicer/dicer which sits next to the hand hammered Wok from the Big E. Thanks for the advice.

I guess I can get her an American Girl Doll. I overheard her talking with someone a while ago how she always wanted the American Girl Doll called Kaya, or something like that. A girl is never too old for a doll right?

This reminds me that I was worshipped like a rock star when I got the DW a new bat and batting gloves when she turned 30 (for the first time). Turning 30 for the 25th time or more makes Bdays a little more challenging. Proceed at your own risk!

FWIW, DW is very happy making soups, smoothies, and frozen drinks with her Vitamix 5300, which has a good motor and 7 yr warranty (she better be cuz at 4 bills on sale at Costco, that's the equivalent of a good number of carefully-researched bat, glove, and other misc sports equipment bargains!)
