High School Ball

Virginia. Believe we have a 20 game season, maybe 3 to 4 scrimmages. Practice will start 3rd week of Feb, can't hardly wait. Older dd will be sophomore. Should do fairly well this season, mostly young, 2 pitchers, senior starter and a freshman.

Texas:
Practice began 1/19
Season begins this Monday.
So far the team has played 6 scrimmage games
Scheduled to play 20 regular season games plus post season. They stand an excellent chance of repeating as state champions.
Scheduled for 2 tournaments. The FBCA Classic tournament and the Bryan/College Station ultra competitive invitation tournament. We are the only private school accepted to compete. Most schools are 5A and 6A. DD pitched against the eventual 6A state champs there last year. Held her own, but we lost in 5 innings.

We are TAPPS, but UIL rules are mostly the same.

Illinois we start feb 27th , first game march 18th. DD school is small private school but state multiplier we play 3A. Tough for us to compete as it's an academic focus school. First yr we will field 9 travel players. Won 5 games 2 years ago but last yr we won 15....looking brighter..

We're in GA. Ours is in the fall, as JAD said. Anyone know why? We've got TB getting kicked into high gear in the next couple of weeks to really get going after March 1.

PA here. We have been having workouts since the start of school, once a week. In Jan. we upped it to twice a week. Tryouts are the week of March 6, games start in April.

First year here in PA and I have a middle schooler and a High schooler. Cant wait!

West Tennessee here...first official practice is today(13th). Have around 18 regular season games and 4 tournaments and two play days. #roadtostate

WA here. First practice/tryouts Feb 27. Girls have been doing open gym workouts since December.

Excited to watch this season unfold. Lots of talented girls and making a serious run at State seems possible. Lost 3 Seniors - our entire OF - so will be interesting to see how this goes.

Meeting my new team (Dunkirk HS Modified)this afternoon. Practice starts 3/6, first game 3/22. Open gym is allowed with certain rules all year.

Iowa. We play summer softball. I believe we're the only state with a summer season. First official games are 5/22, state tourney is 3rd week in July. The upside is we play a 40 game season. Also, many of the competitive schools put together a "spring team" run by volunteers which typically play 20+ games starting in April. Unofficial (out of season) practices start in January.
