Recruiting question regarding unofficial visits.....

I have a pretty talented group of 02s on my team. People with experience, how did you go about setting up unofficial visits?

Schedule a tour of the school and then email the coach that you will be there on X day at X time for a tour and would love to meet him/her while you are there.

Are these girls playing showcase ball yet? DD found she got much better responses from coaches who already knew who she was.

Just starting the Showcase thing. Did Thunderbolts Showcase in the fall but this spring and summer is full on go.

Is this for individuals or the team?

Individuals but would like it to be several at a time.

Don't think so. Doing Thunderbolts, Goldstar in Tallahassee, Atl Legacy. I have heard Scenic City will stick you on the outer fields if you arent a Big Name organization. Going to do the USSSA Class A State that weekend.

Most college coaches are happy to host players on unofficial visits as long as you are respectful of their time. The assistant coaches usually do most of the tours and a short meeting with the head coach follows the tour, time permitting. After you have gone on a couple of visits you may be able to gauge how interested a program in your DD based on who does the tour and the amount of time the head coach spends with your DD.

Easy enough - call the school to organize a tour and email and call the coach to tell them you are coming and would love to get a tour of the softball facilities and do a meet and greet. As you are not a player they are recruiting they can talk to you and email you and you can work out details of when and where and who.

In most cases the assistant coaches will do the facilities tour, but ALL your players should email their profiles and links to skills videos to the coach. Had some head coaches come on out when they saw something they might like. If you are doing it in conjunction with a tournament they also almost always come out and watch a game.

In our experience, all the unofficial visits were made by the Head Coach inviting DD through her Travel Coach. DD had made phone calls to speak with them before hand, but all were initiated by the schools she was visiting through our Head Coach.
