DD is a junior and has sent her first emails to coaches.

I'm just curious as to how long should we expect before we hear from them. I'm curious and I know DD will be checking constantly.

thanks!

DD has had some answer almost immediately, some answer with an invite to a clinic, some answer weeks later and some never answer.
She had one that she emailed her schedule to every showcase she played in last summer and never got a response until late August. It turns out the coach had watched her in every tournament all summet and is interested, while another one told her she was coming to see her and sent a reply just after the first game and emails DD at least once a week still.

Good luck to your DD, tell her not to get discouraged if she doesn't get a response quickly, Is she looking in our general area

obbay Please tell her to quit checking her email. She will drive both of you nuts. Like murphdog said it is a mixed bag and do not ever read anything into the lack of a response or one that is immediate. All schools have different processes, and it really depends on the coach/staff. She needs to be tenacious and keep emailing until they say no. It is cliche but every no gets you closer to a yes. And always remember that it is a process of elimination, not selection.

Thank you both! Fortunately she did get a glowing response from one within 24hrs and we will be meeting them a week from Saturday.
Regardless of what hapoens, this has stoked her fire and is motivating her to do her homework!
Thanks again!

I will second the previous responses about not expecting feedback from everyone, but no response does not mean they are not interested. When my DD started the recruiting process it felt like we were sending emails, postcards and thank you notes into a black hole...

Have your DD come up with a top-10 and try to keep the coaches of those 10 schools updated on her activities on a regular basis. Do not become a pest and email them about what she had for dinner every night, but keep them informed of upcoming tournaments or opportunities for them to watch her play. Significant accomplishments should also be emphasized.
