Question for the group. What software program do you use to join together your 10 minute video clips from the GoPro?
I use FreeMake Video Converter. The program works great, however it takes 4 hours to join about 1 hour and 20 minutes of video together.
My GoPro (knock off) takes 10 minute clips, so I need to join them together for posting on Youtube.
Anyone use a program that is faster to join?

Thanks

I've used both Adobe Premiere Pro and Sony Vegas Pro. The application itself is not going to determine how long it takes to render, or join, the videos. In essence when you join multiple clips, you are making a new video. Things like the processor speed, number of cores and RAM will have a greater impact on the amount of time it takes to render the new video. On my older Intel i5 with 4GB RAM it takes about 3.5 to 4 hours to render about 90 minutes of game film. On my newer rig with an AMD FX-8350 and 16GB RAM, I can render the same video in about half the time.

Thanks! My laptop is fairly new.. and takes about 4 hours. I guess 1080i doesn't help. No big deal as I do it overnight. Just wondered if it was my program.

Thanks for the replies!

We use the free GoPro software. We also started recording in lower quality. It still looks great but the files are much smaller and everything goes faster.

I use PowerDirector usually, and it takes a similar amount of time. For any game-length videos, I plan to let it process and finish while I'm doing something else so I don't really keep track. There is no doubt that I can take way more softball video than I can ever edit.

Since you mentioned YouTube, I'd note that you can join the videos together in YouTube with YouTube's editor. I've only done it once and those particular files were giant. It wasn't quick for me, but I can't say whether that was a function of YouTube's processing speed or the file size. It might be worth a try to see if it saves time. At least it seemed to do the processing on YouTube's system so mine was free for other things (like editing the next game).

Got game footage from games this past weekend. Want to clip/snip out plays and send to respective players. For example, girl hit home run and want to send the clip to her. What is best way to do this?
