I know teams have to fundraise, but not a big fan of panhandling...run a carwash or something that take a little effort. If you want to just solicit donations do a raffle.

We do it, there are some city rules we need to follow.

On weekends there is almost always someone in our intersections.

I miss the point because I would rather write a check then stand out there all day. It is the same people that also can write a check out there. All I can think off is getting the players involved and trying to get our name out there.

I think I saw these same kids yesterday and thought exactly the same thing!!!! Was this in Gwinnett County?

I saw this immediately after stroking a check for $950 for DD's travel team this fall. Um, no, I'm not going to donate to pay for some other kid. Do a car wash or a bake sale and I'll consider it.

Up to 10U just get permission to stand in front of a Walmart/Costco/grocery store and put them out there in shifts for 6-8 hours in their uniform with a batting helmet for donations. $1000 minimum right there.

Once they get past 10U they just aren't as adorable - so we do the poker night thing.. more work but always brings in a few thousand and we are done.

We have been doing a drawing for a soft Yeti cooler for the past 2 years. Tickets sell very well and the parents of the kids on the team usually buy several as well because it is really nice to use yourself on tournament days. That's pretty much all the fund raising we have had to do and total cost by the parents was reasonable. Made around $5,500 last spring. My wife actually won the last one! She was very excited. And no I'm not a coach nor did we have any part of the draw down. Ha

We had our annual HS poker night fundraiser last night and I think we raised $1500-2000. Not bad for one nights worth of work.
