I've started and deleted this thread several times thinking I'd cool down. I have not. I am appalled at how many TB teams take credit for players getting into college who did not play for them OR who they did nothing for to get those players into college. I am POed at one particular claim where I made the recruitment video and made the college contacts for the player when that organization did nothing. Let me make this clear THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR THAT PLAYER. I could go on and on about the dishonest displayed on several website I visited. One website list 3 players that that organization didn't have in the program when those players verballed. It would be a good idea for me to stop now since I'm getting more mad as I type. I might say something here I regret. HEY HOW ABOUT SOME HONESTY IN WHAT YOU DO AS A TB ORGANIZATION OR STOP LYING TO YOUR CURRENT AND POTENTIAL PLAYERS.

I have seen that around here too. One in particular took credit for a player that verballed and ultimately signed at a D1 school. My DD knows her and she verballed after going to a camp at the school before she played for the organization. And they use that to get other players to play with them over over teams because "D1 schools come to see us play and that gets ours players signed". Okay, whatever.

How are they taking credit? Are they coming out and saying that ''these are players that we've helped get signed''? Or is it just a roster with players and their college commitments?

Would be interested to see what people think is appropriate and what isn't.

I am currently making videos for three or four more players who's TB organizations have done nothing but have the parents sign up for a recruiting service. Yet, when I get these players into college, those organizations will take the credit. On one, the organization has basically said that they young lady should not pursue collegiate softball. I have an offer for her now from a school that needs what this player brings to the table. It isn't much but it will help the family and they want her to attend there.

CB you do it for all the right reasons! Each summer we end up taking on graduated Senior with the skills to play, but was woefully served by her team. It is very rewarding to find them a home where they can go to school and play the game they love. We get more satisfaction helping those kids than the stud we work for a couple years who goes big with multiple offers. :)

Unfortunately that is very common with the "top team", "big name" organizations. That is how they roll.

Gotta love those marquee organization 18U gold teams full of SEC commits, but when you pull back the layers of the onion, you realize 90% of the players were verballed before they joined the organization.

Same question I had. What is meant by "taking credit"? DD verballed while she played for Team A. Team A folded (entire org folded). She joined Team B. On B's website, the roster lists the players and where they are committed, obviously including my dd. But I don't view that as "taking credit." It's just a factual depiction of the roster.

I'm sure there is more to this and I must be missing something... Cannonball - what do you mean by taking credit?? Not trying to be confrontational - just trying to understand. Thanks.

They are taking "credit" on their websites as players who they have placed in college. We have a local board here and one of these organizations states that they place their players in colleges. In each case, including the ones I am working on now, some of these organizations have not made one college contact that the player or their parents know about. On the one player who I made the video from, that player went to the college she did because I called that coach, told him a few college softball people who personally know me, asked him to call them and find out about my reputation and I would call him back once he did that to tell him about a player I had. When he heard the names and I had the contact info, he was all in on the girl. She was a 4 year starter and holds several career records at that school now. One player at a local D-III is there because I called that coach and he knows me. I told him I had a girl that was better than one of the players he has that I know well. That young lady is currently his best player now. Yet, on the website, it list how many years she played for that organization and shows a pic of the signing day as proof that they helped her sign. BS!

What has me so angry is that these organizations are not actually doing what they say they do. One player from 45 minutes north of us called because I belong to a website for sports in my state. Her parents were also lied to about what to do. So, they came down and we went to work. She got an offer from a D-II. Her parents thanked me so many times. Maybe I'm just being an idiot on this but that family was lied to. When it was almost too late, they panicked. I didn't even know them but had seen the player play several times. Why does it come to that when that organization says that they do the video, contact coaches, ...

I just read this and I am not even coherent. I guess I upset about nothing. Never mind!
