I'm wondering if it's time for DD to get a new bat. She currently is using a drop 13 composite. I forced her to take a break and she's been working out with her mom on non-softball related activites for the past month (don't stone me! I needed a break!). Now, shes much stronger in her core and I'm thinking the bat isn't heavy enough for her now. She's had this bat for a year and even then it was alot lighter for her. I'm thinking of a drop 10 or drop 9, but wonder if that's too drastic of a change. What say DFP?

I would buy her a used -10 off Ebay or at Play It Again Sports just to use in BP if nothing else.

She currently has a drop 10 aluminum that she used for training last offseason. I took her to the field a couple days ago and she said the composite bat seemed lighter than normal. Would switching back to the aluminum cause any issues? She was hitting in the 60's on the jugs with her composite with no gloves so I think she's over the "bat sting is only caused by the bat" thinking.

I'm actually a bit surprised that wasn't reply post #1 lol.

I actually thought about saying that, but anyone who knows me, knows I prefer older bats vs. new ones, thus my response...too bad the really good old bats were removed from the ASA approved bat list this year...
