This questiong is slightly confusing. What do you sefine as qualifications? I usually put my qualifications on my resume.

Ex: If at the last hitting coach job I had the slugging percentage increased by .400 in one year that qualification would make it on my resume when applying for a new hitting coach job.

At many/most schools, interested HS staff members are hired without looking outside the school for more qualified candidates.

Bingo for us and then they bring in sub part assisrant (s). Some schools have an staff member who is or becomes a good coach. Either way it seems most school coaching in our area whilE some get someone like cannonball

I was called and asked to be part of the interview team for DD's high school. There were two student athletes there, a teacher, AD and me. We looked at coaching history/credentials/philosophy, community involvement and character. The direction of the talks was led by the AD. Afterwards we each listed the coaches in order we thought the ended up, there were three final candidates, and gave our reasons.

Thank you for the compliment.

What our school does depends upon several factors. However, for our school, if you lose, you're going to get fired. Our school wants the best candidate but they have to be good teachers. We're lucky right now in that we can get great candidates to apply that fit that bill. I don't think we have anyone on our coaching staff that didn't play in college.

Two of ours played college. Problem is they just regurgitate things they told but don't understand. Makes for miserable season. Seems like for every one positive they bring ten things leave u scratching your head.
