Has anyone ever had their daughter do the Under Armour Pre-Season All American Tournament? DD said she'd like to do it but the timing isn't very good for me with my work schedule etc... It's through the Softball Factory. Thanks!

I've never been but I got an invite through an ASA newsletter. I'm not sure if someone else has seen the video and may have a link but... the players looked pretty bad. Again, never been so the real thing may be good but the video did not show it.

A friend of ours took their daughter there for lessons and they liked it a lot but didn't know anything about the tournaments. The coach told us that this particular one was geared for "college bound" athletes. It looks like a fun winter get away at the least.

JMO but Softball Factory will take as much money as you are willing to give them

Just my 2 cents - what a joke! DD participated in their testing that was billed as a “camp” at the 12U USA All American games in OKC. Got 10 mins to play catch, then they stretched and then the “testing” began.

Overhand speed - 2 overhands into a bownet with pocket radar. No problem. Told DD top speed was 60. Report shows 64. No way.

Tee Exit velocity - two swings for max velocity. Kids were not allowed any practice swings. Couldn’t even air swing. They told them to go up and do absolutely whatever it took to hit it the hardest. Didn’t care what it looked like. Great idea with no practice swings right? Told DD her exit was 65, which is probably right after warmed up. Report shows 60.

Broad jump - girls jumped and DD was first to go. The “college” girls doing the testing had no idea to which point to measure. Ended up deciding that it was “obviously” the toes instead of heels. My 5’5’ daughter jumped 8-7” according to her online profile. No way in hell.

Next - speed. Hand timed of course with two young ladies that had no clue how to run a stopwatch. Argue over is it when the toes cross the finish line or the first body part. Running 2 girls at a time. DD is running against her best friend and they finish shoulder to shoulder. Friends profile 3.41. DD’s 3.89. DD has been timed at 5 division one camps and has always been in the 3.3’s. Supposing her time was 3.39 and got recorded as 3.89.

Shuttle - told DD one of her times was 5.28. Probably right based on camp laser testing. Fastest time ok report was 5.58.

Clearly a clusterf*k from the word go. Sales pitch to go to “follow up testing”. Figuring some kids times had to get recorded on wrong kids or something. On DD some way higher than reality and some way lower. They ain’t getting a dime of my money. Id think that after kids send the reports to college coaches and then same coaches test them at their camp and get numbers not even close they would start to doubt their validity.
