What type of tablets are you all using for iscore? I'd like to keep costs down, but am going to be keeping an eye out for a good deal on tablets. This is likely just going to be used for iscore.

Can I get away with a 7" galaxy tablet or do I need to use a bigger tablet? Open to all suggestions and ideas. Thanks!

I use my iPad mini and it's marginal on size - for iScore I'd like bigger, mostly because I'm half blind now and there's a lot of detail on the iScore screen. For GC it's fine, I can even use my lowly iPhone 5 for that.

I just use my phone, no problem. It's a Note 3 so it's bigger than your average phone but it works great. I wouldn't think you'd need to get anything special - a 7" should be fine. My main concern was battery life though. I have extra batteries for my phone so if it gets low I switch it out with a full between games. I don't think my tablet (Google Nexus) would make it a whole tournament.

Yes, you could "get away" with using a 7" tablet. You could also get away with using your phone.
However, if you need to see what you are doing in a bang - bang type play, you may want to consider something with a larger screen.

If you want to keep the cost down just use your phone to score the game. It is already on a cellular data plan so you can share the link with family and friends who want to keep up with the games.

If it were just about any other scoring app than iscore, I would tell you that a 7" tablet would be fine. But it's iscore so I can't tell you that. Get the larger 10.1" tablet or you will be spending money unnecessarily because eventually, if you continue to use the iscore app, you will be buying the bigger tablet pretty much as soon as you can afford it. Been there-done that. The smaller tablet is just too hard on the eyes IMO. Now the 7" is the DD's and she pretty much uses it only to for her nook and kindle apps since she said it's not good for much else.

I think it depends on what functionality you are using in iScore. I can use my phone (painfully) if I don't use the pitch location option. But for pitch location, a larger screen really is needed. Also, and I am a total Android guy (and mostly rabid Apple hater), the iPad really is a better product for iScore. They have done a very good job of making sure their products work with Android, but the original app was in IOS (Apple) and seems to get the priority. I use both and find the IOS version to be more stable.

I don't agree with your post at all. I've been scoring with iScore for two years now on my Galaxy Note 2 and now on a Galaxy S6, and I've had no problems with it. I score everything, including pitch locations. I've used a tablet (my trusty Motorola Xoom) on occasion, so I know both experiences, and I don't have any problems whatsoever using a phone to score a game.

Thanks for the input everyone. If I go with a 7" instead, what functions would I be missing out on? If it's pitch location, I don't need that. What else?
