Probably in the closet next to their Rip-it masks?? ;)Heck I can't tell those kids anything, hard headed. Me and DD are in my RZR, roll cage and 4 point harnesses.
I had a idea that you would say that. By the way tell your dd good luck with her HS team and I hope they take it all. That would be a good way to close out that chapter in her life and a good start to her new chapter of her life. Emily and I will be looking for your updates.

Thank you. We will give um heck, going to be a long hard road for sure.

We did have a preseason tourney this weekend, but have snow forecast for Friday. REALLY?? Snow in southwest TN?? I'm so mad, I've got the worst case of cabin fever. :(

Suck it up, what's a little snow. No lie, DD's team opens its season tomorrow with a doubleheader in the Adirondack mountains in upstate NY.

W got the Hero +3 black.

I use if for practices and record games, it allows me to see things i cant see with my eyes. on the low quality video setting you can record at 240 frames a second letting me see things i cant otherwise.
Great tool for troubleshooting.

i think i slowed this one to 10% it can be painfully slow to watch to a great tool.

it has burst mode pics, can do 30 images a second, it is nice trying to get that just right shot

I use a kindle fire in which i sideloaded the gopro app, lets me preview what i am going to record.
For games, i can record in 1080p, i mount the camera to a upright on the backstop and let it go until the end of the game., i can get about 2 games from a charge on the camera and the backpack battery.
the camera will reord until you run out of disc space or that battery goes dead.
Yes better resolution and higher frame rate equals faster battery consumption.

The go pro editing app is pretty good and easy to learn and use. I think it is great since it is free.

I have set it up also to do time lapse, using 1 image every .5 second for an entire game, captured around 9000 12mp images of the game, it was great, was able to capture every player at the plate and never did anything more than set it up and turn in on.

I think as a tool it is very useful, my eyes getting older tends to miss things when dd is pitching and hitting, remember it can be paifully slow.
here is one the is 100%, 50% and 25% htting tcb balls

I really like it but found i was using it too much, i think maybe once a week or evry two would be sufficient.

Maybe limited use for practice, but we recorded every inning of every game this year. Our kids love to review tape from their games. Helps them close the gap between how they think they did and what they did. After each game, I created a single file of the entire game. I also created a small file that showed ever swing of every at bat (for my own kids only). This proved to be invaluable for self critique of swings.

We use our GoPro with a LynkSpyder. However, setting it up seems to be very difficult. We have not been able to avoid the fence showing through the lens no matter how we position the device. Maybe we are doing something wrong? Please help!

ooops...missed you

Very sorry....just now saw this post. One of the first things you might try, if you have one of the "+" GoPro's is to turn off SuperView. This basically stretches the vertical and doesn't do much for what we are trying to accomplish (designed for POV shots, allowing more of the body in the shot). Next, we find that the Medium field of view is what we use most of the time. If the backstop is deep, we use narrow. Very rarely use wide, and when we do, we usually get fence in the shot. Lastly, getting the lens as close to the fence as you feel comfortable what really makes the difference. In conjunction with this, the LCD back for the GoPro is what really helps here. Setting up with instance response instead of relying on the stream to a smart phone is so much faster and generally yields better results.

Hope this helps and again I'm very sorry for not getting back with you sooner (I get a ton of email and "stalk" a lot of forums. I get sloppy and forget to check back posts from time to time)
