Figured I would grab on to this one last time for those that may have not found. I think its important, especially to those that may just be starting their way. We are gearing up for our hs season which will start in just 2 months. For those that may have younger ones and wonder...yes, you can play at a higher level, even if it doesnt seem like its possible now. Be patient, work with your dd..though it may seem hard now, it gets easier. They will suprise you as they age and learn how to handle some of their issues on their own. DD is doing things I wouldnt imagine when she was 10. Its an awesome ride for sure

Had to do a lot of digging to find this one again, but since we are into our sr year, i would do a recap in case someone else finds it helpful. I have learned that most of what i was questiong early, was way too premature. Looking back, the fact of the matter was that the meds helped a lot early, but she hit her own plateau. DD WAS playing at the highest level she could at the time. Over time, we ended up switching teams when hers disbanded at 1st yr 14u, and found new/different coaches that brought her game to whole new levels. She has been a V starter for HS since a frosh...she has been all-conference, all-group, mentioned all-state...her hitting has been in the all-state stats in different categories, and once tied late in season for total hits. Considering shes a slapper, but never slaps for her HS team, i find it to be quite the feat. She was a conversion at 12 because she has speed and lacked power. Travel ball, she's a leadoff, but HS we swing away 3-4 hole. Its been quite the ride. She has recently been accepted to continue at a nice little D3 in state with a pretty competitive program in a very competitive conference. It isnt easy, but its not easy for anyone else either. Be patient..work...and all can be achieved.

Thanks for bumping this up. I learned a lot from reading this thread and found this thread to be very interesting. Congratulations on your dd's softball journey, it really sounds like you and your daughter have enjoyed the softball experience. Good luck to you and your daughter.

Thanks Bob....my only wish is that others find good info within. DD not the only one, but perhaps it helps others in similar situation or perhaps coaches? Idk..In the end, i just want to see others in the same place realize it is workable and you can still make a mark in the future. DD went d3, but we missed our jr season due to a concussion that we couldnt clear....if we didnt, perhaps d2 was in our future? Maybe, idk. DD a conversion slapper who can go yard on the swing away if everything right..not a lot of them out there. My only point has been its a workable situation, and dont limit the girls to what you think they can handle...they can go much further than you may think
