Does anyone have a recommendation for the best setup for recording games? I've watched several games on youtube shot from behind home. It looks like the camera is likely setup somewhere on the fence about 10 feet up or so. Just looking for ideas/suggestions or even tips if anyone has some experience with this.

Thanks!

Ideally, I like to set up my GoPro on the outer edge of the right side batters box, the higher the better. Since the majority of batters are righties, I've found through trial and error that setting up this way provides the best angle to record catcher's footwork, receiving and transfers. YMMV

I try very hard on this forum to not cross a line. Not trying to promote my own stuff here. There are a couple ways to mount cameras to a fence. Obviously this is ours. But what I wanted to share in this discussion is the topic of camera placement:

Agreed, on the right side. I tend to go further right.

This is my rig, running a GoPro for recording, and an old iPhone broadcasting on Periscope via WiFi...

The connection to the fence is a Fence Clip with a bunch of added on parts to attach both devices. I tend to prefer the Fence Clip because of it's smaller size. I also have a Lynk Spyder that I use for backstops with netting rather than chain link.

If money is no object, the Mevo Plus Pro Bundle (https://shop.getmevo.com/products/mevo-plus-pro-bundle) + Link Spyder bracket is the best of the best. Enables live streaming in 4K to social media (e.g. youtube, facebook, etc.) while it records to memory card.

I can only give my opinion on what we have been using for 400+ games. Lynx Spyder is an outstanding product!! Highly recommended.
We use a cheap $30-$35 sport camera on Amazon. Just Search "Sports Camera". There is very little if any difference between these knock offs and the GO Pro.
I have a Hero first series but wouldn't leave it out in the rain and snow we play in :)

Here is a sample

Not bad for a $30 camera :)

Here is a game that has night view go to about 45:00s

The one thing I would HIGHLY recommend is not to skimp on your memory card. I bought the 64, but wish I would have got 128. I find I can get three games on a 64 card if I pause recording every half inning.

ITA. We had two small cards at first. When one got corrupted we replaced it with a 128 and it is so much better. The Lynk Spyder is amazing. I have a Fence Clip too which is ok (and there's a newer version which may be better) but the LS is much better IMO. An external battery is another must have. I have the GoPro 5 and can usually get one game on the battery. But often there's no time to recharge. We just keep it plugged into the back up anytime we're filming and the battery just stays full.

+1 on the Link Spyder and external battery. I got the a battery from Amazon that LS recommends on their website, which also is nice to charge up you phone when the GoPro app drains your cellular battery.
