    I agree. Our school allows us no gym time until late February and games start in March.

    You got a variety of opinions back on what to do. Seems to me, instead of pickoffs...focus on keeping the runners at first...and off balance. There are no absolutes...throw the ball back quickly and firmly to the pitcher regularly, but let the runner know you are watching...a pump fake or stare now and then...a different tempo...if a runner is too far off a pump fake and run at her. I would suggest...keep working on throw downs to 2B on steals (doesn't sound like that is a problem)...throw the ball back regularly, firmly to the pitcher...but not like robots...don't let the runner at first time it and steal second on you. Just get good at keeping her at first.
