need some assistance, DD says she is having trouble getting leg guards unhooked occasionally, any ideas on how to make them come undone easier without risking them coming off during action. they seem to be pretty traditional metal clasps. the hooks seem very stiff, so I am wary of trying to pry them out a little. tried some WD40, she did not think it helped at all.

Also, any ideas on how to convince her to wear them properly. she does not seem to like the flaps resting on her feet, and will pull them up (like 1 out of two times before she squats) so the flaps are more on her ankles. I know a broken toe or foot will convince her, but hoping it does not come to that.

Maybe find some slo motion shots of foul tips off the catchers toes?

ETA: I’m guessing you already checked this - but maybe it’s a fit problem? One of my smaller 8YO’s had problems - her shins were just too short, so when she squatted, the strap above the knee would hold the top of the guard in place, and push the “crease” of the guard (b/w shin and toe flap) into the top of her foot.

I only pulled up an image of the intermediate size - IIRC daughter is ~10u - do the youth sizes have 2 flaps or just one? (Toe and foot or just foot). The Easton Mako’s and M5(10?s) I have only cover the top of the foot - can’t imagine the cost being that much more to add a toe guard?
