DD2 says her chest protector is too small, and she is having balls come up and hit her in the sides. I think hogwash, but it is in her head mentally now, and she is not blocking as well as she should (in a battle for playing time at C). She is 11 (playing 10u this spring), average size for her age, maybe a little on the smaller side. Need recommendation for a good but economical chest protector. She currently is still using the one that came with her Wilson EZ gear kit couple of years ago (replaced legs guards last spring), so maybe it is time to upgrade, she is catching some pretty fast girls (low 50s).

For a 10U player I would recommend (not that I'm an expert) the All-Star Players series or the System 7 Axis. Both are good bang for the buck.

EvoShield. My two daughters and son wore them for years and didn't have any issues. My one DD is a pitcher and still uses chest protector since she also plays 3B.

thanks for the feedback (fyi diamond dad, this is for catcher, apologies I was not explicit).

actually gonna go with boombah defcon, after some feedback from older girls who have played for DDs coach (she uses them as assistants at practices and games a lot). oddly enough, when I had DD pick out color, she chose the white MAtte one, not one that matched her team colors (I told her white was a good option for when it was hot after the fact, didnt say also a good option if she ever changes teams). just her style I guess, she prefers white and / or black clothing most of the time.

Won't be long before it's orange from the dirt.;) I see a pressure washer in the near future if you want to clean it.
